10-ton water source heat pump replacement in Richmond Hill

A 10-ton water source heat pump replaced above the ceiling of a finished office lunchroom, with the old unit lowered out by material lift.

A 10-ton water source heat pump needed replacing, and it sat above the ceiling of a finished office lunchroom, surrounded by piping, ductwork and wiring. It had to come out through the room without damaging the cabinets, counters or floors.

  • Protected the floors with heavy-duty floor protection and wrapped the counters in plastic.
  • Opened the ceiling to reach the unit.
  • Lowered the old unit with a Genie Superlift material lift and took it out through the room.
  • Installed a new McQuay 10-ton water source heat pump in the same ceiling space, connected to the water piping and ductwork.
